On September 26, 2009, I am enrolled to volunteer in Salvador, Brazil for 8 weeks, where I will be working with underprivileged children. I have never done something like this before and I am so excited! I am traveling with a great non-profit organization called Cross Cultural Solutions. I will be living at a home with other volunteers, doing volunteer work for 4-5 hours each day, and exploring the city and culture during my free time.
So you could learn more about my trip, I made this page of FAQ's about my volunteer trip to Brazil. Check it out!
This trip requires a LOT of work, so I have decided to blog not only about my experience after arriving, but also about my travel preparations and fundraising efforts throughout the summer.
The program fee covers living arrangements, meals, language lessons, and Cross Cultural Organization staff and guides. All donations are tax deductible. Click here to sponsor me.
Site Navigation: On the left, click on the links to learn more about certain aspects of my trip. I included pages about Salvador, speaking Portuguese, FAQs, and more. You can also learn more by clicking on links to other sites, such as the CCS homepage. Enjoy!
Best wishes for a safe and fulfilling Journey! The rewards of self-worth built on valuable acts of kindness is immeasurable. Take pride in your choices and wishing you an incredible experience! I had the fortune to visit Brazil with my cousin, Rhan, who wrote the Fodor's Brazil chapter on the Amazonia. I'll reach out to you on FB and I've added this link to my favorites. All the Best, Kay
